Tech bulletin has

Speedways.
7/6/10:
Unfortunately, we
have made the decision to postpone the karting program for this year.
Several things factored into our decision, primarily the cost of paving
the small track and starting a new program of karting while the Town of
Malta is once again questioning how often we can legally run events.
We
offered the opportunity to the karters to run the big track, but many of
them are not comfortable with that, and we don't blame them. There are
more costs associated with the big track as well as other issues. It is
still our desire to have a successful karting program at
Albany-Saratoga, and we may yet, but it will remain a desire and not a
reality for this year.
We
would like to thank Darryl and Jordan and the karters who supported it
for helping us to get this program race ready, and we'd like to
apologize to those who will be disappointed with this decision. We're
disappointed too.
6/16/10:
Track rental is now
available at both of our facilities. Test and tune, get your car set up
the way you want it. In order to help teams afford to spend some quality
time at the track, we have dropped the minimum rental time to 1 hour! Plus...
we are currently offering any CVRA members a 50% discount on the rental
rates. This means that a CVRA team owner with a current membership
can rent a track for as little as $150, and bring up to three teams with
them! The regular rate is $300 per hour, but
we will cut that in half for our teams.
Please note that due to insurance regulations, only ONE car is allowed
on the track at a time.
So
get a few cars together, call us and reserve a date and get some quality
time at the track. Share your knowledge, learn from others, we're all in
a learning curve with the pavement and we want to do what we can to help
you out.
Click
the "rent the track" button on the toolbar for rates and
information.
6/10/10:
ATTENTION PRO STOCKS
AND SUPER STREETS!
Devil's Bowl has
announced events for pro stocks and super streets (they'll run
together)! Both events will have a tow money program in place. Any
car towing from more than an hour away from Devil's Bowl is eligible.
You MUST sign up by calling the office at 802-265-4613 Mon-Wed. No exceptions!
Cars enrolled in the tow money program will receive tow money in
addition to any purse money. Call the office for details and to sign up
for the tow money program. Click on the Devil's Bowl schedule above for
more information.
5/24/10:
Both
Albany-Saratoga and Devil's Bowl have made the decision to expand the
Tow Money Program (see CVRA program below) to regular Airborne Park
racers. This is for Modified, Sportsmen or Renegade teams that would
like to travel to either Malta on Friday nights or Devil's Bowl on
Sunday nights. If you are a current Airborne racer and you sign up for
the program, then when you
attend either CVRA track, you will be eligible to receive tow money. Please
be aware that this program is for Airborne regulars only. You MUST contact Sharon at the main office to enter your team in the
Airborne Tow
Money Program. Those teams that are interested can call Sharon at
802-265-4613 Monday thru Wednesday for more details and to join the
program. Please note unless you call first, you can NOT be entered in
the program.
Four
cylinder cars at Devil's Bowl may be eligible to receive one free pit
pass. Call the office at 802-265-4613 for details.
Keep
in mind that cars from other speedways may be requested to make changes
such as added weight in the interest of competitive parity.
5/18/10:
The 1st Annual
All Car & Truck Show has been rescheduled at Albany-Saratoga for
September 25th. See the schedule for details.
5/13/10:
Both
Albany-Saratoga and Devil's Bowl have instituted a Tow Money Program for
2010. This is for Modified, Sportsmen or Renegade teams that may be
planning to race at both tracks. It will be based on your owner's
membership as to which track is considered your home track. When you
attend the other track, you will be eligible to receive tow money. Please
be aware that this program is for our members only. Your car must be
registered as an owner at either DBS or A-S in order to be eligible, and
you must contact Sharon at the main office to enter your team in the Tow
Money Program. Those teams that are interested can call Sharon at
802-265-4613 Monday thru Wednesday for more details and to join the
program. Please note unless you call first, you can NOT be entered in
the program.
Also
to clarify the blog post from Devil's Bowl on 5/4/10 regarding Airborne
cars and home track rules: this is meant for Airborne cars, it is not
meant for Devil's Bowl cars to be able to purchase tires at Airborne and
then run them at the Bowl, nor is it meant for Devil's Bowl cars to be
set up with Airborne rules and expect to run at the Bowl weekly. HOME
TRACK RULES mean just what they say. Please don't intentionally
misinterpret the statement or the intent.
5/11/10:
Rule books
revised for all full fender cars, internal mirrors are now permitted.
Sportsman
will be allowed to run ANY USED tire at both tracks. All NEW tires must
be CVRA track tires.
5/6/10:
TIRE
NEWS: Tire day at Albany-Saratoga will now be every Thursday from
10:00-2:00. If you need tires at other times, you can call ahead and
set up an appointment with Bruce at 518-857-0761.
5/4/10:
There have been
some questions regarding car owners. In 2010 CVRA will NOT require
car owners to be registered members. However, if you choose not to
become a member, you MUST fill out the proper paperwork before your
car will be inspected and allowed to race. Of course, if you
purchase a membership you will save money at the pit gate. Also
please be aware that check cashing privileges are ONLY extended to
members. This includes the tire barn! If you want to have the
convenience of giving us a check, you need to become a member.
Non-member owner forms are available at the track.
4/13/10:

Go to www.mylaps.com, under "sports" scroll down to click on Car Racing (not Stock Car Racing) and then you can do a search for Albany-Saratoga Speedway (choose "any of these words"). Then you click on the date and you can see the events from that night's racing.
You can also register yourself and
your transponder as a

When you search for Albany-Saratoga Speedway you have to have the dash between Albany-Saratoga, otherwise it has a hard time finding us.

Devil's so don't forget that either.
