WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway isn’t just for the stock cars of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series anymore. The West Haven, VT facility will open its gates on Wednesday, July 24 to welcome both the Walker International Circus and Rally North America for special events.
The day begins with 80 sleek and sporty street-legal cars from Rally North America’s “C.J. Pony Parts-Rally New England 2013” trek. The four-day, 1,300-mile journey will help raise funds for Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening diseases and their families. The Rally runs through Downtown Rutland, VT on Wednesday morning and stops at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, where each of the 80 teams will shake their cars down on the half-mile track. The Rally also visits the famous road course at Watkins Glen (NY) International and the Oxford (ME) Dragway.
On the evening of Wednesday, July 24, the Walker International Circus rolls in to Devil’s Bowl Speedway for a fun-filled night under the big top. The 90-minute show, billed as “America’s Favorite Big Top Circus,” is fun for all ages and filled with thrills, chills, laughter, and animals.
Two shows will be held on Wednesday, July 24, at 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Discount advance sale tickets are available by calling (802) 265-3112, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Adult admission tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the gate. Children age 14 and under are admitted free.
The jam-packed date is only part of a busy special event schedule during the second half of the Devil’s Bowl Speedway season. In addition to exciting NASCAR racing action every Friday night at 7:00pm throughout the month of August, the American-Canadian Tour Late Models return for the inaugural St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 150 presented by Cat Country 105.3 on Sunday, July 28 at 1:30pm. The Vermont State Late Model Championship Series also wraps up its season during the Vermont 200 Weekend on September 14-15.
The Sports Car Club of Vermont returns for its final three amateur Saturday Autocross events on July 20, August 17, and September 7, and Al Lane’s “The Racing School” has a pair of dates on the weekends of August 3-4 and September 21-22.
